Postdoctoral Research Assistant - Magnetic Microbubble Mediated Drug Delivery

Grade 7: 31,604 - 38,833 p.a.

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join a collaborative team working between the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Engineering Science and the Nuffield Department of Surgery. The post is funded by Heart Research UK and is fixed-term for 12 months with the possibility of a further 2 year extension.

The person appointed will be responsible for leading the effort of using magnetically guided microbubbles to deliver thrombin for the treatment of pseudoaneurysms.

You should possess a PhD (or be near completion) in a relevant branch of engineering, physics or chemistry. You should have experience in the fabrication of encapsulated structures for biomedical applications and techniques for their characterisation. You should have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of researchers with both physical and life sciences backgrounds engineers, biologists and clinicians and have strong evidence of research achievement to date. Experience with biomedical ultrasound imaging is desirable.
