We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join The Tidal Energy Research Group at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The post is funded by The EPSRC and is initially fixed-term for 2 and a half years with the possibility of extension.
The successful applicant will join a research programme designing, developing and testing novel axial flow tidal stream turbines that use constructive interference effects to enhance device performance. You will work with a team of seven fluid dynamicists to develop overall device design, and will take specific responsibility for design of the physical experiments, procuring components and assembling test models, and running the experimental test campaigns at large external testing facilities.
You should possess a strong background in experimental testing applied to flow driven power generation. Hold a relevant PhD (or be near completion) and a strong publication history.
