We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Facilities Manager (Governance) to support the Departmental Safety Office (DSO) and Building and Facilities Manager in the day-to-day management of the building and facilities in the Department of Oncology, and to ensure that first class research support is maintained within the Department. The postholder will deputise for the Building and Facilities Manager or DSO in their absence.
You will be a key member of the Building and Facilities team and will be primarily based within the Radiobiology Research Institute (RRI), the Old Road Campus Research Building (ORCRB), PET Radiopharmacy (PROx) or the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM).
Embedded in the Facilities Team, you will co-ordinate, support, establish, manage and monitor standards, processes and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety and Governance issues within the Department of Oncology are adhered to. You will be expected to exercise judgement in bringing specific issues to the attention of the Building and Facilities Manager or DSO in a timely manner. The ability to collate and analyse data, using pertinent information to draft reports and to direct evolving protocols within a dynamic environment will be essential.

Knowledge of current Health and Safety requirements within a practical research environment with a basic H&S qualification (e.g. IOSH) is an essential requirement of the role, together with excellent communication skills and experience of supervising staff.
