Linked Open Data (OXLOD) Architect

The Centre is recruiting for a Data Architect working on the OXLOD project. This role is the project's lynchpin, leading the development of solution, translating existing relational data into semantic Linked Data and demonstrating the results.

The candidate will need to have a high level of technical expertise, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a genuine commitment to making scholarly digital resources accessible to all. The successful OXLOD pilot will enable the platform to go forward within the University with the OXLOD Data Architect playing a central role in shaping the future of this exciting new vision. The postholder will link sample data from existing datasets in the University's remarkably rich and diverse collections to each other and to related academic research datasets; they will work closely with the Academic Lead, Technical Lead and Technical Support in the Centre, direct with OXLOD work of the Library and Museum Leads; will actively engage with LOD experts within and beyond the University to promote knowledge of LOD standards and technologies and establish the pilot OXLOD Linked Data Platform, before leading OXLOD to broaden its focus to other disciplines and institutions; the role combines technical architecture development and oversight with stakeholder engagement and coordination.
