Postdoctoral Research Associate 18F-Radiochemistry

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Veronique Gouverneur on a research project entitled New Approaches to Late Stage Fluorination. This project is funded for a fixed-term period of 24 months. The project will consist of developing methodologies towards the development of 18F-labeled molecules to facilitate drug discovery. You will have the opportunity to either apply known methodologies or develop new radiochemistry using the radioisotope 18F.

You should have a PhD in chemistry or a related area (or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up your appointment). Expertise in the organic chemistry, catalysis is essential. Duties will include managing own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of research. You will also adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols.

The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA and is available immediately.
