We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Solid Mechanics research group at the Department of Engineering Science, The post, which is based mainly in the Begbroke Science Park and central Oxford site is funded by Rolls-Royce and is fixed-term for 12 months
You will investigate the high temperature thermo-mechanical response of aerospace materials, such as nickel based superalloys, including Mechanical characterisation at elevated temperatures on servo-hydraulic test apparatus, Design and performance of additional experiments under different loading conditions, and on microstructural evolution in the materials, Data interpretation, liaison with sponsors and project partners.
You should possess a relevant PhD/DPhil (or near completion) or appropriate industrial experience. You will have sufficient specialist knowledge to work within established research programmes, together with the ability to manage activities and contribute to publications/presentations
