An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Researcher with experience in Computational Genomics to work at the CRUK/MRC Oxford Institute, University of Oxford. The successful candidate will work on projects spanning basic and clinical investigations, resulting in high profile collaborative publications. A key member of a recently formed Bioinformatics Hub, they will provide computational genomics expertise to support principal investigators and groups in the Institute.
The successful applicant will also receive a range of advanced training to build and extend their computational and analytical portfolio. Training will be tailored to the successful candidate but it is envisaged it will cover data analytics, high-performance computing, analysis of high dimensional datasets, and a broad range of technologies including genomics, proteomics and high-throughput cell screens. There will also be the possibility to acquire experience in teaching with a number of opportunities ranging from lecturing at MSc courses, and assisting in the organisation and delivery of workshops.
You will have (or be working towards) a PhD in computational genomics or advanced computing alongside a good understanding of current genomic assays, technology and computational methods. Demonstrable experience in development and management of computational pipelines, preferably in the context of high-dimensional datasets and human disease, is also essential.
The position is full-time and is fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.
