We have an exciting opportunity for a project manager to support a range of large scale, inter-departmental cancer research projects, delivered through the Oncology based CRUK Centre Team. The role would be suitable for an experienced project manager, or an entry level candidate with a relevant scientific background looking to move into a career in research management. Direct prior experience of managing academic research infrastructure is not essential.
The role will involve a range of administrative and management tasks focused on delivering a series of research council, charity and commercially funded experimental medicine and clinical cancer research programmes. Core to all the projects the role will oversee is the translation of Oxford scientific discovery in medical, biological, physical and data science, to improve cancer patient care.
You will have excellent administrative and organisational abilities, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, IT skills and either experience of project management or a relevant scientific background. Experience of advising senior management in project financial planning and forecasting, setting, controlling and managing budgets is also an essential requirement. You will need to work effectively as part of a team, and have the skills to manage a fluctuating workload with multiple deadlines.
