The Department of Zoology and Pembroke College are recruiting an Associate Professor of Ecology to start from 1 September 2018. The post is full-time and, upon completion of a successful review, permanent. The successful candidate will be offered a Tutorial Fellowship by Pembroke College.
Salary on a scale from £46,336 p.a. plus additional benefits including membership of private healthcare plan, scheme for assistance with house purchase, and housing allowance (currently £8,230 p.a.) or free single occupancy accommodation (subject to availability). An allowance of £2,700 p.a. would be payable upon award of Full Professor title.
The Department of Zoology is recognised internationally for its research on ecology and evolutionary biology. Pembroke College has a strong tradition in biology and is a welcoming community for academics in this area, with the scope for exciting inter-disciplinary partnerships. Applications are particularly encouraged from candidates with a strong background in disease ecology, marine ecology or microbial ecology, although applicants with interests in other areas of ecology are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will lead a research programme and research group, give undergraduate lectures and tutorials, supervise graduate students and carry out examining and administrative duties in the Department and the College. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate and postdoctoral experience in the field of ecology, or in a related subject appropriate to research and teaching in this field.
